Nikon Binoculars

Nikon is a Japaneese company established in Tokyo, 1917. Nikon is doing business in the imaging industry and Michio Kariya is the current President, CEO & COO. Nikon manufactures binoculars, industrial equipment, surveying instruments, cameras, measurement instruments. The word Nikon means "Japan Optical". The company made a name for itself during World War II when it was supplying the Japanese military with optics such as binoculars, lenses, bomb sights and periscopes. When the war ended, the company switched to the civil market. Nowadays, Nikon is expanding at tremendous rates and it's getting more and more customers. There are separate divisions in North America - Nikon Precision Inc and Nikon Research Corporation of America (NRCA). As of 2006, the company is no longer producing film camera models and has gone digital.

Since Nikon produced its first binocular back 1918, it's known for being committed to high quality and constant technological improvements and advancements in the design of binoculars. In 1994, Nikon received the prestigious ISO 9001 award in recognition of excellence in quality control, the first Japanese binocular manufacturer to be so honored. This award guarantees that Nikon make sure each part of the process from production to shipment and maintenance support is conducted in a way that Nikon binoculars will provide precise performance and smooth operation for years to come.

As noticed, Nikon has introduced a lot of new systems in the production of binoculars, one of which is the so called Dioptre adjustment ring locking system, which keeps binoculars always adjusted to the user's eyesight and ready for use at any time. This system makes sure that once you have set the proper diopter level according to your eyesight, it will remain the same. Another innovation worth mentioning is Nikon's specially developed Extra-low Dispersion glass which provides precise optical color correction, sharp and clear image resolution.

But Nikon's technological breakthroughs don't end here. The company was the first one to introduce advanced computer-calculated design of the complete optical system achieving higher resolving power and sharpness throughout the entire image. With this optical design, the whole image is in focus, not just the center, but the periphery as well. Another benefit is the fact that colors do not become blurred and real color is reproduced. Another prove of how good Nikon binoculars actually are, is that Nikon manufactures precisely designed prisms with a perfectly round exit pupil.

Nikon offers a wide gamma of binoculars, which can be divided in the following groups - HighGrade, Standard, Compact, High Class Compact, Marine, Hunting and Outdoor, Nature Watching, StabilEyes, Laser Rangefinder, Sightseeing Binoculars and Accessories.
